Here's What I Think of McTrolls!

Now, some would think that this would be an easy diary to write...and to be honest..it is.

And some would think that this kind of diary would be pure "Red Meat," and an easy candidate for the rec list...and they would be right.

And as much as I like the limelight, this is a wholly negative diary...so, as a sideways tribute to Abby Hoffman:

Please don't rec this diary!

This diary is a plaything, that should gracefully wilt to the bottom of the pile, carrying our negative thoughts about McTrolls with it.

So...on with the fun!

Most of the McTrolls that have graced this site in the last 10 months, have been of the easily identifiable type.  They share these common traits:

1. Low Intelligence.  They can echo Fox Noise talking points, but don't really understand the logic or principals behind those talking points. When challenged, they repeat said talking points LOUDER, which in their circles is the equivalent of reaching self-actualization.

2. Impatience.  A troop of adolescent baboons have more self restraint than your average McTroll.  They typical can't be bothered with building site cred, and they generally try a drive-by diary on their first attempt.  This is called projection.  Because they are a member of the Trait #1 group above, they think that we are also.  They assume that they are the pinnacle of wit and intelligence, because in their social group, they are.

3. Self-Centered Philosophy.  These folks use talking points that like to emphasize their own needs, above the common good, and want to reaffirm that they, themselves, won't be making any sacrifices.  The only non-comic book based literature that these folks have ever read, are the first four chapters of "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand

It was easier to identify McTrolls in the old days, but they've recently become more clever.  This is "evolution" at work, (this word confuses McTrolls), and only the ones who can pump their own gas, have survived.  We know who they are, and also their sockpuppet alter egos.

In some ways, they are a unique window into the Republican mindset.  Thinking is discouraged.  An exclusive diet of popcorn and soda is their idea of an intellectually healthy meal.  Details are for nerds.  These folks are "men" of action.  These folks go fishing with Dynamite, and think that it's a great time saver.

We know who, and what these people are.  They represent the "Rovian Dirty Tricks" wing of the GOP.  These are the most committed, unthinking, and uncaring part of the Grand Ole Party of Dipshits.

I now would like to open the floor up to your feelings on this matter.  Please feel free to express your true feelings about McTrolls...and remember...Don't rec this diary.

Cheers!

-Stipes

Thanks Oakland, I do too.

I was in construction long ago, and it matches nicely with our "theme," doesn't it?

Cheers!

There are only about 3 of them left.

Yeah, they have finally dwindled, but they'll be back...once there is any gaff to pounce on, will try again to sow seeds of doubt.

We'll be ready for them...and we will mock them.

Cheers!

They've become pitiful little dung beetles pushing their balls of hate.

Re: Here's What I Think of McTrolls! (2.00 / 4)

Mostly what I notice is, even when they think they are being 'funny' or 'satiric' it's stilted and watered down, very ham-handed, and lacking any real originality.

I think humor and satire is something the doctors remove, along with a sense of ethics, when they convert human beings into republics.

Oh, and Ayn Rand? Yeah, these guys maybe make it through the WSJ Cliff note versions of Atlas Shrugged, but My Pet Goat is more in line with their grasp of economics and philosophy.

Blue,

That's a good point.  The Humorectomy is part of the indoctrination process, although there are a couple of them that have retained that part.  They must have not fallen down the evolutionary ladder yet.

Yeah, these guys maybe make it through the WSJ Cliff note versions of Atlas Shrugged

LOL.  This is so true.  I'm always stunned by how many of these "Randian" acolytes have never actually read the entire book.  Like everything else, they consume, then vomit back up the easily digestible talking points.

Cheers!

I often think the same of the 'Christian Right' (which happens to be neither) and the Bible.

I find they make an almost passable (2.00 / 3)

grade of swine chow when hung up by the heels and drained of their poison.

Re: Here's What I Think of McTrolls! (2.00 / 3)

SwitchingSides begat rankles, who begat rankles2, lemon714, reebus, phillyandcheese, Miles Outlandish, talesofwoe, chicagomary, and about a half dozen others.

Lately, Switching Sides has been posting under his own name and his own persona.  This is a good sign - it means that nobody was buying his homophobic characture in Miles Outlandish, or his "angry Obamabot" is reebus.

Such a dizzying effort to produce so little.  And I like the way the community is handling it - we talk about them - warn other people that they're dealing with trolls, but we don't engage them.  Just dish out the zeros and leave.

Re: Here's What I Think of McTrolls! (2.00 / 1)

Miles Outlandish was the weirdest one.

I can't tell if he really was trying to fool us into thinking he was gay, or he knew how fake it sounded, and that was part of the act...

Cause it was SO bad, it means A&K is really naive or semi-brilliant (when he hasn't been drinking, I guess.)
